Opening Flag Ceremony
At all our national conferences, we open with the Flag Ceremony. This year the national self-advocacy conference will be held in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 4-7.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the conference. We are asking your state to choose one self-advocate to carry your state flag in the Flag Ceremony. We encourage you to select the statewide president or a local president to be the bearer of the flag for your state.
It is a great honor to represent your state at the national conference.
On Thursday, September 4, at 6:15 p.m., the people carrying state flags must line up outside the hall of the opening ceremony.
If no one shows up at 6:15 p.m. from your state — we will just ask someone at the conference to carry your state flag in the Flag Ceremony.
